CCA Newsletter

Dear Parents,

After three weeks back, I’m happy to report that your children are back in the routines of school.  Much of the credit goes to you as parents who help students stay on task with homework, set up the right environment for studying at home, and give assistance when needed.

Progress Reports:  I’m also happy to announce that for next week’s newsletter, CCA will publish a calendar for progress reports for the year.  Unfortunately, our first scheduled report was for this week and our computer system was not ready for teachers to enter grades.  The system is now up and progress reports will come out next Friday.

Playground Equipment Donations:  As we continue to improve our PE program, CCA encourages donations of balls (not baseballs or softballs), frisbees, tether balls, or any other type of PE/sports equipment appropriate for school.  We will gather equipment in the main office.

Bennett Harvest Festival:  I want to personally "Thank" everyone that came out to Bennett Harvest Festival this year. We hope everyone had a great time and look forward to seeing everyone at other school and community events this year.

A very big "Thank You" to Ms. Dorsey who represented our teachers, to Mrs. Brown who represented our board, and to our PTO president Mrs. Godsey, who supported in many ways including bringing hay. We also want to thank all the parents who volunteered to help with the float and/or brought their children to participate in the parade. Thanks also to Mr. Donovan for offering his truck. The kids had a great time collecting candy and handing out pencils, and our float took third place in the parade! We would not have the wonderful school we do without all of you, so thank you again! If you were not able to attend the festival, we hope we will see you at another event this year!

Please spread the word about CCA, its personalized attention with small class sizes, and our challenging Core Knowledge curriculum.

Corridor has about 110 students which is about 10 fewer than what we expected.  A couple of families moved away or moved to another school.  If you know of anyone who might be interested, have them call me (303-644-5180) for a personal tour or a “shadow day” where the student can spend a day at our school and experience our warm and strong community.  We can still accept new students even after the start of school.
