Hi! My name is Ellie Kirkpatrick, but the kids call me Miss K.   This fall will be the start of my third year teaching 4th grade at CCA.  Before moving to Colorado in July 2009, I taught as a Reading Specialist in Indiana.  I attended  Indiana University and received my degree in Elementary Education.  I also earned a minor in Fine Arts.  At the end of my senior year at IU, I went to New Zealand and taught Kindergarten for 3 months.  
    Not only do I love teaching, but I love staying active through soccer, running, hiking, and skiing.  My family and I love spending time at our lake house in northern Michigan.    I would say that I have been an avid crafter my whole life and I LOVE art!  I try to incorporate lots of hands on projects and art into all of our subjects.  
     I look forward to working with my new 4th grade class in the fall!  I already have so many fun things planned for the year!! If you are going to be in my class in the fall, please make sure that you are staying school ready by reading all the time and keeping up with your multiplication facts!
